About the function

As a Freight Forwarder, you’re the logistical mastermind behind the scenes—coordinating every detail to ensure that goods reach their destination safely, efficiently, and on time. You will play a central role in the entire transport process, acting as the crucial link between shippers, carriers, and clients.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Shipments from A to Z: You'll take full ownership of each transport order, from initial planning and documentation to tracking and final delivery. Whether it's a last-minute domestic load or a complex international route, you’ll make sure it all runs smoothly.

  • Buying and Selling Freight Capacity: Using your market knowledge and negotiation skills, you’ll work with national and international partners to match cargo with the right carriers.

  • Optimizing Transport Orders: With an eye for opportunity and a strategic mindset, you’ll use external partners and resources to make sure every load is handled in the most effective way.

  • Communication & Coordination: You’ll be in constant contact with both clients and transport partners. Clear, professional, and proactive communication is essential to keep everyone in the loop, prevent delays, and solve problems before they arise.

  • Problem-Solving : Transport doesn’t always go as planned. Whether it’s a last-minute change, unexpected delay, or customs hiccup, you’ll stay calm under pressure and find the right solution—fast.

  • Fluency in Dutch, German, and English—both written and spoken—so you can communicate clearly with partners and clients across borders
  • You're customer-focused, a true team player, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator
  • You have an HBO (higher professional education) level of thinking and approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset
